Hello and happy weekend to all!

Just 2 days ago we launched new membership options for Business Beware. Originally it was free to register and if you wanted to send our “beware letters” to your non-paying customers you would purchase letter credits. Well after everyone having such great success with the letter and our team having to constantly send an overwhelmingly amount out each day and more members using the service to collect money we created new membership options. Here’s how they break down:

BB Basic Membership:

1 year membership

2 “beware letters”

File unlimited complaints

Unlimited database search

BB Silver Membership

1 year membership

7 “beware letters”

File unlimited complaints

Unlimited database search

BB Gold Membership

1 year membership

12 “beware letters”

File unlimited complaints

Unlimited database search

Custom Bulk Order – Beware Letters

If you have more than 12 you need to send out (someone had 40 they needed sent out the other day!) you can contact us and let us know how many you need sent out so we can get you a quick quote.

This covers our cost to have the team get the letters together, costs of the paper, envelope and stamp. We love that this has become such a huge thing for business owners and we are doing our job if there are less complaints filed and businesses are getting paid.

Ready to get started? What the heck are you waiting for?! Sign up here.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at support(at)businessbeware(dot)biz

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

How many articles have you read on this topic on the internet or been given tips on how to collect from slow or non-paying customers? Yeah, we understand and that’s why we do something about it here at Business Beware rather than just give you tips about it.

If you don’t know about our “beware letter” you might want to learn more here. It’s a way to collect from your customer stating you don’t want to file a complaint against them but just want to simply collect the money that’s owed to you. And when you do collect the money you keep it all, you don’t pay in a percentage like you would a collection agency. Are we a collection agency? Heck no, but we wanted to offer this since we saw such a need for it and business owners need to collect every penny they can to stay afloat in today’s economy.

3 Reasons to use the “beware letter”

Work out situation rather than turning to litigation.

Collect all money that’s owed to you or at least part of it.

Get customer to communicate with you after no response to your own letters sent out.

Just yesterday a plumbing company collect $1,000.00 after trying to collect for over 7 months. He was paid in full only a few short days after the letter was sent. Yeah, it’s awesome.

Like what we do? Then find out how you can work with us or partner with us…learn more.

Hello amazing people! We just had this testimonial come in today from a new member of ours – Keith Sanchez about using our “beware letter.”

“A customer of mine owed our business a total of $3200 after a project we did for him over a year ago. We were about to write him off and not try to collect from him because we never could get ahold of him. I stumbled across Business Beware and wanted to give their beware letter a try. We could not afford to hire a collection agency so I thought “what do I have to lose?” About 2 weeks after the letter was sent to this customer they called us and said “I have a credit card ready to pay you.” I could not believe it, after all this time and they finally responded to this letter. And the absolute best thing about it is we got to keep the full $3200. It just doesn’t get better than that. Thank you Business Beware for providing this to small business owners everywhere. You are superheroes.”

Now that is exactly why we do what we do and why we do it. Period.

“Business Beware is worked like a charm!! After 12 months of sending statements and placing unreturned phone calls I found the BusinessBeware website. One week after getting them the info about my deadbeat customer I had a check from them. Thank you very much!! I highly recommend this company.”

Now how awesome is that? We love that we can help businesses collect their money by using our service but our favorite thing is to see and read the testimonials from people because that’s where it’s at.
She asked us our thoughts and tips on collecting from customers who are slow to pay or who refuse to pay. Here is a question from the chat:

CR: The best defense against non-payment is to get paid before you do work, correct?

AB: Yes. One thing that is very important to do before you take on a job with a customer is to require a certain percentage down. This will at least cover your materials in case the customer decides to not pay you after the work is done. Some businesses and industries aren’t able to charge an upfront fee, but if you can, DO IT. Charge whatever you feel comfortable charging them upfront and what you think will help you out just in case the situation goes south.

Read more about the article here. And make sure to visit Carol’s site CarolRoth.com and share your thoughts.

Good afternoon! Here are some recent testimonials that we received from different people who have used our “beware letter” and got paid by their customer. For more information on what we offer check out our beware letter.

“I found your site through a friend and I had been trying to get this certain customer to pay me for garage doors I installed at their home for over 5 months. I would send out late notice after late notice and never hear a word. I signed up after my friend told me about your service and got a beware letter sent to the customer. After about 6 days, the customer called me and said he was putting the check in the mail that day! I am amazed at this but also for the fact that you offer this to businesses to use. I am a proud supporter and member of Business Beware.” -Jeffery Johnson in Savannah, GA

“I read about you in an construction magazine and immediately had to go to your site. After reading about the beware letter and how well it worked, I had to give it a try. It had been 3 months I tried collecting from a customer with our web design company. About 3 days after I submitted the letter the customer called our company with her credit card #. This is such an amazing service and anyone that doesn’t give it a try is crazy. Thank you so much!” Carly Jenne in Dallas, TX

We get pumped when people send us testimonials and we know that our site has helped businesses out there. Every day we wake up and literally leap out of bed to get ready to help business owners everywhere. It’s an amazing feeling.

For those of you not familiar with our “beware letter” you might want to get familiar with it. Here is a letter we just received from a member of ours who used our collection letter service:

“Business Beware, you are my hero. I have been trying for 10 months to collect from a customer that owed me nearly $2000 for helping her with some interior decorating in her home. For months I sent out a late payment courtesy note but after no response it really ticked me off. I didn’t want to use a collection agency simply because they had screwed me over last time I tried to use them. A friend mentioned your site so I was willing to give it a try and the first letter was free, who doesn’t take advantage of that?? About a week and a half after she received the letter she turned around and called me with a credit card # to charge the outstanding balance! One word comes to mind… WOW. Thank you so much for providing this service to small businesses, I will never use a collections agency again. I am a proud Business Beware member, thank you so much!”

I know we all at some point get so tired of sending out overdue invoices to customers and never hearing from them at all. Or you get a letter from them saying why they should not have to pay that much or you should take off an amount because they believe they were overcharged, etc. You know all the excuses they use trying to get out of paying and sometimes it makes you come to the point where you just say “forget it!”

It’s not fair to you as a business for the customer to keep telling you why they are not going to pay or why you should take money off the bill. With our irrigation and fence business we are guilty of just writing customers off so we don’t have to deal with them anymore even though they owe us money. BUT now you don’t need to just let them go…We have created the “collection letter” for your business to send out to the customer that still owes you money. Most of us don’t like to have to get a collections agency involved mostly because if you do get your money, you have to turn around and pay the agency 20-30%. You also don’t want to turn to litigation because of costs and the time you have to put into it and take away from your business.

This is exactly why we created this letter, we can send this to your client and if you collect your money from them we don’t make you pay a percentage. Yeah it’s for real. In today’s economy you need every penny coming back to your business to stay afloat. This letter has helped businesses all over the US and Canada, small businesses are getting their overdue money within a few days! We encourage you to try out the letter and see what happens. A guy in Texas received $3400 from a customer that had yet to pay him from back in September ’09 just by letting us send a letter to him. Most customers do not want to be placed on the website for others to see and know not to do any business with.
